Hello! My name is Masha. I would like to tell you about
what has happened in my life. Now I am 20. Four years ago I decided that I was
grown up enough and independent. I had many friends. I liked loud hangouts and
had always been looking for adventures and something that would satisfy. I smoked
the most popular cigarettes among youth, L&M,
I
drank the coolest beer, I wore the latest fashions. I was one person at school,
another at home with my parents and a totally different person with my friends.
I had no specific purpose in life, just a desire to belong somewhere, to be
needed and to be loved. I wanted for someone to care for me. I had no relationship
with my parents. And my advisors were always my girlfriends. I ran away from
home, spent nights in the streets because I quarreled with my Mom, and I started
taking drugs. I’d hitchhike without a destination, disappear for weeks and didn’t
remember where had I been and what happened to me. I wanted to find my “second
half”, thinking that in him I would find my happiness.
I dropped out of school, and began living with a person who was 18 years older than me. I don’t know where I would have ended up in my search, but a miracle happened! I found the One I was looking for! The One who really loved me, cared for me, who gave His everything – just to be with me! Who forgave me of everything, everything, everything that I have done bad in my life. I found the One who washed away my shame and destroyed my sin. Guess whom I’m talking about? His name is Jesus and He is the Son of God! 2000 years ago He came to the Earth. Came to justify you and me. For you and for me He was crucified. Jesus took upon Himself all the curse and all the sins. Your life may be cleaner than mine was, but the Bible says that all have sinned. You need forgiveness as much as I needed it.
One day someone explained to me that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. And I realized – my search is over. We got on the bus, it was dark, it was cold, and I gave my life to Jesus. To give your life to God means to make a U-turn and instead of going your way you go His way. I asked Him for forgiveness, and He forgave me. The Bible says if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He cleansed me, I was born again. He changed my life. He gave me hope; He gave me as a gift love and joy. God has set me completely free from drugs, cigarettes and alcohol. He gave me real freedom. Not the freedom of sex but the freedom of the spirit. I love God because it’s impossible not to love Him! Now Jesus is my closest Friend.
Maybe you are also searching. Maybe many times you have been disappointed by the things and people you found. Jesus won’t disappoint you. Christian life is not easy but it is worth it! Nothing compares to Him! There is no substitute for closeness with God. Only He can fill that empty place in your heart. Real freedom is to belong to Him! If you want to give your life to Jesus talk to Him now.
If you repent from your whole heart, then know that God has heard you and that you are now standing on the threshold of a new life. God is gonna be revealing Himself to you as you are reading the Bible and praying (talking to Him). We will also be happy to meet you personally and to help you in any way we can.
